Prints are made on Innova Art’s, 285gsm Ultra Smooth FibaPrint Gloss.
Truely a fabulous maximum black archival fibre paper in combination with a
large format Epson 9800 printer and Epson K3 pigment inks. Images are
printed
with a warm Platinum tone.
A combination that produces superior prints to even the finest quality darkroom
fibre print in terms of archival performance, sharpness, dMax and tonal
contrast range. The prints however retain the look and feel of a traditional
darkroom fibre print. The final gap has been bridged between digital technology
and traditional photographic practise. Photography’s next major evolution is a
reality.
The prints meet the Fine Art Trade Guilds specification for images sold
as Fine Art Prints. The specification is 250gsm + and ph 7.2 to 10. Ink and
media combination Blue wool rating 6+ (Epson K3 inks and Innova Art’s F Type
Gloss scored a very high 6 at Wiratec Laboratory in Leeds, UK). The result is
a print with fabulous archival properties equal if not exceeding the best hand
crafted traditional silver print.
Prints have displayed in USA, Asia and Europe at trade shows such as
Photokina in Cologne, Germany, 2006 and Paperworld, Frankfurt, 2007 -
picture left, and photographic galleries.
